I generally avoid making New Year’s Resolutions. However, I will publicly go on record and declare that, at the first of NEXT year, I’m going to really get serious about some things. Okay, I’m being a little sarcastic here, but why wait? Why do we constantly put things off? Why are we content with procrastinating? Why do we even accept an attitude of procrastination?
I’m on a journey. To be better. Starting NOW! I have often joked that I put the NATE in procrastiNATE. See what I did there? But all joking aside, procrastination is the venom of Satan. It’s not the bite that kills you, but it’s what the bite delivers…and by constantly procrastinating, we will NEVER be who God has called and designed us to be! Furthermore, we will never reach a life of fulfillment and satisfaction. Don’t get me wrong, we’ll always be chasing it, but we’ll never apprehend it!
I hope that you will begin some things, and maybe stop some things. Not because it’s the beginning of a new year, but because right now, is the right time! Make a list. Create a spreadsheet. Share with your accountability partner. Jot some things down on post it notes. Whatever works for you, just do it. And do it now. Otherwise, we’ll be flipping the calendar to 2015, 2016, 2017…you get the point…and those proverbial white whales will still be alluding us.
Quit procrastinating…now.
