This past weekend, I was rescued, resuscitated, and revived. It was timely. It was on point. It was divine providence.
As I have been reflecting on what was spoken into my life, I want to share with you some of my takeaways. In essence, it is straight from my heart…it is STR8 talk.
- STRetch – Sometimes, we just have to stretch ourselves. Look, I’ll be the first to admit, somethings are just not possible, we do have limitations, and we need to be aware of these limitations, don’t be afraid to admit them. I would love to really believe in the Disney or Oprah theology that if you can believe it, then you can achieve it. However, as much as I want to believe it, and achieve it, it’s just not going to happen for me to physically gather myself, and dunk a basketball on a regulation size hoop. It’s just not gonna happen. However, there are areas of my life, that if I do stretch myself (yes, even beyond my comfort zone), I will be able to accomplish and achieve things that I otherwise would not have been able to do.
- STRength – And for the previous point, this is where your strength MUST come into play. You’re not doing yourself, or those you love, any favors by not taking care of your mind, your body, your soul. You NEED strength. You NEED a sabbath.
- STRive – Finally, with our stretchability, and strength at an all time high, it is critical that we strive. Now, I do believe that when we strive properly, then we can thrive. This is what “life more abundantly” is all about. Strive to do better. Strive to be better.
So, as we kick off another week, immerse ourselves into the daily grind once again, just remember, you heard it here first…STR8 talk….from my heart, to yours.
